Finally on here :-)

It has been a while since I have had time to be on our blog.

So much has happen and not sure where to start, school finished and summer started.

The Leavitt's started the summer by Megan dancing in Stadium of Fire in Utah. This was such a great experience and wonderful even to participate in. It is the largest televised 4th of July show and the only one that the troops get to watch while they are deployed. I was so proud of her and all she accomplished. She loved the experience and will join it again next year.

The rest of the summer went by fast and we camped, played, watched movies, and just stayed super busy!!

Then onto school. Megan went to the 3rd grade and is in Mr. Martin's class. Madison is went to preschool at Super Stars Preschool (check out her blog spot) with Ms. Heidi and also goes up to the College a few days a week when I work. She loves it and is so excited for next year when she starts kindergarden.

As everyone knows when fall starts so does ALL the activities: Dance, gymnastics and soccer.  So again, we are staying super busy!!  Megan is competing again in Level 4 with Rock Springs gymnastics (where I am also on the board as Secretary). 1st meet is October 29th in Evanston. Madison is now in beginner and is loving it!!

As for Dance: both are excited for the new year! New costumes, new routines, and  competitions start next spring. :-)

Soccer was so much fun, the weather seemed to cooperate...for the most of it. It was Madison's 1st year and let's just say she was not that interested in it. We will try something new in the spring. Megan loved it like usual and made us proud by passing  the ball more and working hard as a TEAM!!

As for Brad and I....work, work, and more work. I started a new job in August. I was offered a teaching position at Western Wyoming Community College as a CNA instructor. It has been such a great experience so far and I am loving every aspect of the job!!  Brad also took on a new position with his company. This means he is now home a little bit more (at least in Rock Springs a little bit more).

I think this sums up a lot that has been going on. It is nice to share all of the great experiences with everyone. I will try and post something new very SOON!!

Growing up

The past few months the whole family has grown-up. The girls have moved up in clothes sizes as well as shoes. They were excited because they to go shopping.

We also welcomed a new family member. My neice was born up in Bozeman, MT. Her name is Mallorie Olivia Miller, 7.4 pounds and 21 in long. She is a very gorgeous baby (just like all of them). We took a wonderful trip up there to help out my sister, and to our surprise we had a tag-a-long...my mom. She flew in from california to help out.

I have also had to grow up...which means make some decisions that probably affected me in the months to come. This included work, kids activities, and their schooling. Sometimes, I feel like I want to be the mom that sits back and let's the other moms decide. However, that is not me and if it is important I feel as a mom we should stick up for our beliefs and values. Also, I can't B$#ch if I didn't say anything to change the situation.

Hopefully since I do this my children will grow up and show independence and also get involved in their community.

New Year full of New Events!

It started off great with a small party at our house, welcoming the new year. Madison crashed out early, but Megan was able to hang and watch the ball drop with some of her cousins.

School break seemed short, but was fun to spend the holidays together and with so much family in and out of town. But, seeing the family was not over because my sister came in town for her baby shower and I am not sure how, but we fit over 30 ladies in my house. Not expecting that kind of turn out but it was wonderful to see everyone.

Phyllis received tons of new presents to help welcome her little girl. Mallorie Olivia Miller finally arrived on Feb. 11th at 5:03 pm (Pictures to follow).

Holiday season

What a busy holiday season. I have not been on here forever. So much has gone on.....

Gymnastics season was eventful. Megan started competing in level 4 gymnastics, which took us to Evanston a lot. She had the option to travel all over wyoming, but we decided to stick close this year. Maybe next yr she will attend more. But even just going to evanston she was busy every other weekend from Sept to Dec. WOW.....she did amazing. She started out cautious and went up in her score 2-4 points every time. I am soooo proud of her.

Then we move onto dance. Madison and Megan were in it this year which also kept me busy. It was wonderful see them both dance at each performance. They danced in the mall, Castle Rock, and Young at hearts. Each time getting better at their skills. Loved watching Megan even preform a duet with one of her friends Kialee.

We headed off to Montana for Thanksgiving to see my sisters (phyllis and Lindsey). What a great time. Phyllis at that time is about 9 1/2 months pregnant and super cute. She is going to have a little girl in February. We left with Madison thinking she had a baby in her belly. So funny. We will be heading back up there in February.

Then onto Christmas, which brought on the christmas events that take place every year. Parties, presents, finding time for family pictures, mailing out the cards (which are still sitting on my desk ready for stamps, which will get done today), oh and WORK!! It was a great holiday, the girls got everything they wanted and even I got my IPAD. I was so surprised. Thanks to my wonderful husband.

I know I am leaving a lot out, but this is a summary of the past 5 months. Please enjoy the pictures and I will try and post more soon.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!!

Weekend of relaxation & fun!

This weekend was overdue. With working, school, and activities I noticed we all needed a break. We all headed to a great dinner after soccer practice (which by the way was the last one for the season). We spent the dinner with some friends and growing closer to them.

Then headed to a way needed break from the kids to Johnny Macs. Our place to escape....we were able to catch up with friends and enjoy a glass of wine/beer.

Soccer started early, beautiful day, and Megan (offense) made some goals and earned some money! We have incentive, if she scores a goal she gets $10.00....might be lowering that. She is draining the purse. :-) I love watching her, she smiles the whole time.

After, we went swimming at the rec. center and were able to have a blast. Megan is a fish in the water. One of my favorite things to do is to watch them just run and have fun. Maddy loved playing in the shallow end, while Megan took off to the slides. My friend was able to catch some great pictures of the girls. As you can tell Megan never stops smiling....which is one thing I hope she never looses. She is even smiling under water. I asked her, how do you do that without drowning she said, "I held my breath!"

The next day I spent the morning doing some catch up on cleaning. Then off to eat some ice cream and enjoy the weather. The girls love being outside and playing with friends.

It is always a nice weekend or day when you get to spend it with ones you love and care about.
I know what things are good:  friendship and work and conversation.  These I shall have.  ~Rupert Brooke

Sick kids & Flu shot!

The changes of season also means....allergies and colds! The whole family this year has horrible allergies which has meant an endless supply of zyrtec and nasonex! I was hoping that the cold weather would make our allergies go into hibernation. Nope it has done the opposite. We all have been waking up with puffy eyes and scratchy throats. AAAAHHH will this ever end! Now, it is slowly creeping down to Madison lungs and is starting to turn into a cold. She woke up sounding like Darth Vador and running a temp. Thank goodness for tylenol cold/sinus. She seems to be now running around the house like a normal 3 yr old. I am just hoping that no one gets anything worse than a cold.

Flu shots here we come. I received mine last week, but the girls are heading to the doctor this week for theirs. So, remember and go and get yours.
