Weekend of relaxation & fun!

This weekend was overdue. With working, school, and activities I noticed we all needed a break. We all headed to a great dinner after soccer practice (which by the way was the last one for the season). We spent the dinner with some friends and growing closer to them.

Then headed to a way needed break from the kids to Johnny Macs. Our place to escape....we were able to catch up with friends and enjoy a glass of wine/beer.

Soccer started early, beautiful day, and Megan (offense) made some goals and earned some money! We have incentive, if she scores a goal she gets $10.00....might be lowering that. She is draining the purse. :-) I love watching her, she smiles the whole time.

After, we went swimming at the rec. center and were able to have a blast. Megan is a fish in the water. One of my favorite things to do is to watch them just run and have fun. Maddy loved playing in the shallow end, while Megan took off to the slides. My friend was able to catch some great pictures of the girls. As you can tell Megan never stops smiling....which is one thing I hope she never looses. She is even smiling under water. I asked her, how do you do that without drowning she said, "I held my breath!"

The next day I spent the morning doing some catch up on cleaning. Then off to eat some ice cream and enjoy the weather. The girls love being outside and playing with friends.

It is always a nice weekend or day when you get to spend it with ones you love and care about.

Sick kids & Flu shot!

The changes of season also means....allergies and colds! The whole family this year has horrible allergies which has meant an endless supply of zyrtec and nasonex! I was hoping that the cold weather would make our allergies go into hibernation. Nope it has done the opposite. We all have been waking up with puffy eyes and scratchy throats. AAAAHHH will this ever end! Now, it is slowly creeping down to Madison lungs and is starting to turn into a cold. She woke up sounding like Darth Vador and running a temp. Thank goodness for tylenol cold/sinus. She seems to be now running around the house like a normal 3 yr old. I am just hoping that no one gets anything worse than a cold.

Flu shots here we come. I received mine last week, but the girls are heading to the doctor this week for theirs. So, remember and go and get yours.

Starting to Blog

This will be my first time doing this and hopefully this will keep family updated on the Leavitts household.

I have to say first that last week was draining, emotional and physically. Brad took off on a hunting adventure (which he was looking to shoot a deer and an elk). Which meant I was left to run the household by myself. Which usually I am up and do well with the challenge. However, this week I was already falling about on Monday.

So much was on the schedule this week and I was seriously doubting if I could do it all. By the end of the week I noticed that I did accomplish everything and did it well. I was very proud of myself and proud that nobody was hurt in the process, :-) because at some points I was ready to freak out!!!

Brad surprised me by coming home early with no trophies (which was probably for the best because no one eats the meat here). I have to take that back, we eat the jerky. As he walked in I was waling out to go on a movie date with my older sister. Which was definitely needed.  We went and watched the chic flick Life as we know it.  It was a great movie, we were able to laugh and have a good time together. Love hanging with my sisters!!!

Then sunday came and my goal was to head to Walmart and pick up some Oooooops all berries. This is my all time favorite cereal and had to have it. I have not seen it in a store since college and had to grab it up before it was all gone. I accomplished my goal and was am happy that the weekend is over. Because now I am refreshed and ready to tackle on the new tasks that will be set before me.

PS: My condolence to Lois Rochatka's family (she pasted away on 10/8/10). She was a great lady. She touched the lives of many and for that she made me a better person!!

Also, my heart goes out to my co-worker who also lost her son on friday. That is one of my fears is for my child to pass away before I do. My heart breaks for her and the pain she must be feeling.

There is a sacredness in tears.
They are not the mark of weakness,
but of power.
They speak more eloquently
than 10,000 tongues.
They are the messengers
of overwhelming grief,
of deep contrition,
and of unspeakable love.
